PMI typically requires a combination of project management experience and education hours. PMI has the following prerequisites for the PMP exam:

  • A four-year degree  or high school diploma (or global equivalent)
  • 36-60 months leading projects within the past eight years
  • 35 hours of project management education/training or CAPM Certification

The actual PMI PMP exam fee depends on your membership status:

  • PMI Member: $405 USD
  • Non-Member: $575 USD

The exam can be taken at a physical Pearson VUE testing center or online with proctoring.

The PMP exam is a computer-based test with multiple-choice questions.

The exact number of questions can vary slightly, but it's typically around 180 questions.

The PMP exam allows for 230 minutes (3 hours and 50 minutes) to complete

PMI does not publish a specific passing score. They use a scaled scoring method.

PMI allows retakes of the exam after a certain waiting period, but consult the PMI website for specifics on timing and fees.

While PMBOK 7 is a core resource, it's not the sole source for the exam. The PMBOK 6th edition and PMI PMP Exam Content Outline also play a significant role.

uCertify provides Project Management Professional PMP online courses from reputable authors and publishers. These courses offer flexibility and cater to various learning styles with video lectures, practice exams, and interactive content.

PMP is a certification that validates your project management knowledge and experience. PMBOK is a guide to project management practices but doesn't grant a certification.
